Rules and Point Scoring
- Stage win: 25 points
- Top 10 stage finish: Equal to 12 minus stage placement. To make
things clear, here is a table of points awarded to the top 10 finishers
of each stage:
| 1st | 25 points |
| 2nd | 10 points |
| 3rd | 9 points |
| 4th | 8 points |
| 5th | 7 points |
| 6th | 6 points |
| 7th | 5 points |
| 8th | 4 points |
| 9th | 3 points |
| 10th | 2 points |
- Stage win where 2nd place does not recieve the same time: 8
additional points.
- Day wearing the maillot jaune (Leader jersey): 12 points per day.
- Day wearing the maillot vert (Sprinter's jersey): 5 points per day.
- Day wearing the maillot à pois (King of the Mountains jersey): 8 points per day.
- Day wearing the maillot blanc (Best young rider jersey): 5 points
per day.
- Being awarded the final green, KOM, or young rider jersey in Paris:
30 points.
- Being named Most Aggressive Rider of the Tour, at the end of the
Tour: 20 points.
- Most aggressive rider of the day (named daily by the TdF
Organizer, ASO): 12 points each time.
- Final podium points:
- 1st: 100 points
- 2nd: 75 points
- 3rd: 50 points
- Doping penalties: If a cyclist from your team tests positive,
that cyclist forfeits all of their points, and your team loses an
additional, equal, sum. For example if you have a cyclist who has
earned 24 points and tests positive, your team will lose 48 points
(the 24 unearned points + 24 penalty points).
- Drama: if your cyclist is connected to any non-doping related drama,
he will be awarded 5 points per instance. Examples: throwing
one's bike in anguish after a mechanical in the race to the line, threatening to behead
a journalist if they stand on your dog, walking across the finish line
rather than riding due to a dispute with Tour organizers, swatting a journalist's
hand psychotically before storming off, head-butting a
camera... to more honorable yet still dramatic moments, such as owning an asshole
fan etc. Generalized disputes such as a rider sit-in recieve
an honorable mention but no additional points. The drama must be
isolated to a small number of individuals, a maximum of 3.
- Spectacle and Bravado: if your cyclist's actions uniquely enhance
the mystique and intrigue of the Tour, he shall be awarded 5 points
per instance. Examples would be arriving at the race
dressed as Caesar, showing godlike bike handling
skills without even flinching, taking the time to fashion a
custom muscle
or zebra
skinsuit, cheating
death, crashing into a
dog and then coming back to win the stage, etc.
- Off-podium fling with podium girl: 10 points. Can only be awarded
once per cyclist.
Notes on scoring
- If a cyclist has earned two jerseys simultaneously (for example, the
white and yellow jerseys), he will receive points for the more valuable
jersey and forfeit those for the lesser jersey. Those points will be
awarded to the cyclist who is next in the ranking, and who actually wears
the jersey, as per Tour custom.
- If a cyclist begins a stage #1 in the rankings for any of the
jerseys (yellow, green, KOM, white) without wearing that jersey, he will
still be awarded the points if his reason is acceptable. (For example,
Contador's first day as #1 in the General Classification (GC) in the 2007
Tour, after the previous leader was fired by his team.)
- Drama points are awarded at the sole discretion of me.
