2010 Tour de France News

2010 Tour de France invites finalized
Mar. 30, 2010
The invite list makes sense, but I'm disappointed Vacansoleil didn't make the cut. Brice Feillu won a beautiful stage last year, and his brother Romain was in yellow a couple years ago. Vacansoleil is certainly a more worthy team, more capable of spectacle and public support than, say, Omega Pharma-Lotto.

Samuel Sánchez makes the Tour his sole goal of 2010
Nov. 4, 2009
His goal is to podium in 2010. It is realistic, considering his palmarès. Apart from the hard work ahead, his main concern may simply be Euskaltel-Euskadi receiving an invitation, as the team suffered several doping scandals in 2009.

Fränk Schleck hopes to share podium with brother Andy
Nov. 2, 2009
Some say Andy will have to let go of Fränk to win the Tour, but I think they're each better together. Sharing the podium is a realistic goal. Andy should be stronger in 2010, and Fränk should be too, not suffering knee injuries stemming from the 2009 Amstel Gold Race. (Unforseen events/injuries notwithstanding.)

Cadel Evans signs with BMC
Nov. 1, 2009
With Cadel Evans, Alesandro Ballan, and George Hincapie, BMC should receive several wildcard invitations in 2010. On paper, BMC + Cadel is more deserving of an invite to the Tour than was Silence-Lotto + Cadel. It's normal that Team BMC should be present at the 2010 Tour.
